I forget.

I question.

I don’t understand.

I try to figure out God’s plan for me, or I tell Him how I want Him to do it, or I just set my expectations on something without asking Him first (this does not end well for me), or I get all caught up in my own human reasoning.

Trust feels hard some days. #truth

The days when I’m looking for the answer and God says, “Look to me instead.” Keeping our eyes on Jesus takes persistence.

What I continue to learn over and over again is that God is not trying to keep any good thing from us, He’s a good father. Withholding to hurt us, is not who He is.

The very opposite is true no matter what our feelings try to tell us when we’re frustrated. Even pressure, disappointments, and rejection can bring out the gold in us if we allow God to work it for our good.

People may put us down, God is always working to lift us up.

His ways and His answers to our prayers may not be the easy route initially, but they will produce bountiful fruit in our lives.

Nothing we desire is worth losing out on our relationship with God. He is our treasure and our reward.

“Keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts” (1 John 5:21).

He went first (1 John 4:19).

He is like no other (Psalms 86:8).

He won the war on our behalf (Revelation 1:18).

His love is for real (1 John 4:9-10).

He is love (1 John 4:8).

Real love sacrifices (Galatians 5:22).

Real love last (Galatians 5:22).

Real love is not fickle (Galatians 5:22).

Real love does not send cheap substitutes in place of things that will bring deep fulfillment, happiness and joy. If you believe God is working on your behalf, trust Him that the process to get there will be worth it!

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). His intentions towards us do not change. They are rooted in His relentless love for us. “His love never quits” (Psalm 136:1-26 MSG).

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17).

God knows us better than we know ourselves, He is our creator. We can trust Him even when we are unsure, disappointed, and feel as though He is not fighting for us. He can handle all of us and all of our upset emotions too.

Let’s choose to trust Him.

Sometimes the things we think we want, we are not prepared for. They may not be wrong, but they may be wrong for us in our current skin.

He’s got more for you than you can imagine. Trust Him. “His love never quits” (Psalm 136:1).

He’s NOT cheating you. He has your best interest in mind and He will NOT lead you astray.

The enemy however, WILL try to convince you otherwise, and cause you to question God’s motives, and His intentions for you.

You can trust God. “Thank the miracle-working God, His love never quits.” (Psalm 136:4).

“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through” (Numbers 23:19)?

It’s our expectations that need to be adjusted, not God’s intentions towards us.

He actually wants more for us than we can usually dream up for ourselves. He is the God who hung the stars in the sky and formed the whole universe. “The God whose skill formed the cosmos, His love never quits” (Psalms 136:5 MSG).

Be willing to follow His “no’s, yes’s and wait’s” and see where He takes you. I can promise it will be an unexpected adventure every time.

Don’t hold back, God is NOT holding back on you. He’s preparing you for all He has created you for every step of the way.

Even when we mess up God is rooting for us and wooing us to Him with His great love. “God remembered us when we were down, His love never quits” (Psalm 136:23 MSG).

“If God is for us, who can be against us” (Romans 8:31)?

“And we can be confident that he will listen to us whenever we ask him for anything in line with his will. And if we know he is listening to us when we make our request, we can be sure that he will give us what we ask for” (1 John 5:14-15).

If you need reassurance of God’s love for you, and we ALL do at times, this is for you.

God is on your side. You are not forgotten. His love toward you will not end.

Cheering you on my friend! If this has spoken to you, I know you will be encouraged by this post, Will You Trust Me.

Thank you for being a part of Faith Caffeine.

With much love and grace,

Joelle Povolni
