I want to honor all the women and the moms who give us life, and who influence us with their love and life.
Over and over again in my life I have found myself in the presence of unique women who have impacted my life in amazing ways.
I want to honor every woman today, no matter your story, for all of the life, light, and fight each of you bring to this world.
Your story matters!
Holley Gerth says it this way, “Every woman is a mama because we all bring life to the world in some way.”
Thank you for being an influencer, a nurturer, and a princess warrior in heels impacting the lives around you.
If you are a mom with kids still at home, I want to tell you that you are a GREAT mom! I know you do not hear it often enough!
Here’s a word of encouragement from a mama who may be further down the road than you and I: “I want to reassure you that in the end your kids will remember the good stuff, you will remember the good stuff, and that hindsight is NOT 20/20 – it’s rose-colored.” – Christi Gee
“I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well” (2 Timothy 1:5 ESV).
Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful mom – I love you!
Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful mum-in-law – I love you!
Happy Mother’s Day to every woman, whether you are a mama to children you have birthed or a mama to those who you have loved and influenced!
A few of the things I’ve learned from my mom:
To never give up.
To always hope.
To develop a love of God’s Word.
To talk to God all the time.
To know that God answers prayer.
To expect miracles.
To serve others.
To have creative outlets and enjoy a piece of chocolate cake every once in a while.
To know we are God’s masterpiece.
To pursue our God-given purpose in this world.
To be okay with being unique and different.
To fight battles through prayer.
To love others.
To step out into uncharted waters to impact lives for the Kingdom of God.
To be passionate for the things God has given us to do.
To laugh at yourself often.
To give the gift of hospitality.
To make room in your life for friendships that stand the test of time.
To love learning.
To use your talents and gifts to encourage others.
To celebrate life, love, and family.
To not be afraid to try new things.
To follow your gut.
To always be there for one another.
A few things I’ve gleaned from my mum-in-law:
That everyone has a story.
That sharing our stories brings understanding and compassion as we listen and ask questions.
That we can be from different parts of the world and yet, underneath our differences, we actually have so much in common.
That tenacity and hard work pay off.
That love has no bounds and can reach across the world.
That laughing together is beautiful and contagious.
That strong women stay the course, even when the course is difficult.
That our differences are what make us unique and amazing.
That we all have so much to learn from one another.
That giving gifts is a beautiful way to express our love.
That homemade pasta is the absolute best.
That sacrificing and giving of ourselves, to bring family together, is worth it.
That Pavlova is one of the best desserts on this side of heaven.
That just being together with those we love matters.
That we can all be courageous no matter our circumstances.
That you’re never too old to receive wisdom from your mum.
That making delicious food brings people together.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the women! You are beautiful and amazing!
Grandma Theobald I love and miss you! Thank you for always making me feel loved, special, and for showing me the power of prayer.
To all my adopted moms and those who have mentored and loved me along this journey, I am forever grateful for you! Happy Mother’s Day!
My friends, none of us are perfect.
All of us have faults, and all the things that we feel either we aren’t good at or that we could do so much better. Yet, in spite of that, it’s amazing how our lives can impact others and what we can learn from each other.
Let’s keep linking arms in community and encouraging one another to reach out and make a difference in this world. It’s worth it! We need one another!
Happy Mother’s Day,
Joelle Povolni
